Back to Japan?! ✈️
Hello again friends!
I wanted to let you know, Lord willing, I’ll be returning to Japan this summer!
Spending three months immersed in Japanese culture cultivated a burden in my heart for the Japanese people. There are so many prevalent misconceptions about Christianity in Japan that could easily be cleared up if only they had the chance to get to know a real Christian. I feel the next right step for me after graduation in May is to spend another summer in Japan.
While I’m there, I’ll be keeping myself plenty busy with projects and professional development (See more below)! Initially, I thought returning as an Intern wasn’t an option post-graduation. However, the Lord has been reshaping my definition of success. Like the world, I had been defining success by how much money I make or how fast I climb the corporate ladder. God, however, defines success from heaven’s perspective, not that of man. I was fortunate to witness the impact my fellow intern’s return to Japan had on the locals. Traveling around the globe already means a lot to the those we befriend, but returning for a second time speaks of Christ’s love even louder.
In order to pursue this field of work, I need your help! I ask that you join me and the team in praying that the Lord’s will be done through my return to Japan and that I represent him faithfully through every interaction. Additionally, I ask that you prayerfully consider financially giving towards my internship. Many of you have given previously towards last summer, and for that I’m truly grateful! I invite you to continue the mission this year as we see what plans God has in store.
The act of raising support from fellow Christians serves two main purposes. First, this is an act of humility on my part. Throughout this season of preparation, I will be completely dependent upon God to provide, trusting his sovereignty to enable me. Second, support raising gives you, the American churchgoer, the chance to participate in God’s Great Commission! According to the Gospel Coalition, it’s reported that “Christians today spend slightly more than 0.09% of our income on global missions”. Having just a small group of financial supporters helps bolster my confidence as I travel to the other side of the world and enables me to freely offer my professional and artistic services to those that have need.
If you feel led to donate during this holiday season, please do so electronically by clicking the button below. To purchase flights, I will need to be 50% supported by February 13th. Keep in mind, the sooner I reach this goal, the sooner (and cheaper!) my flight expense will be.
Please reach out if you have any questions or want to chat about last summer over coffee sometime! Feel free to contact me by replying to this email with any further questions.
Happy New Year! 🥳
